SURPRISE! And wrapping up 2009.

Well, friends,
we have officially known the sex of baby #2
for a month now.
I suppose it is time to share the fun news!

Lucy Ambrosia
will be the next baby to join the Vieira Family Party!
I love me some hand-me-downs!

Dorothy is just such a sweetheart.
I love these stages with her.
Here she is all snuggled up in the comforter
while I was making the bed.

Christmas was incredible!
We had everyone except Nathan together.
How fun to finally see Will after 2 years
and to have Dorothy meet her uncle,
great grandpa, and great uncle.
She was nothing but smiles the entire week.

We figured that since she wouldn't remember anyway
we would just wrap up a bunch of stuff Dot already has and loves.
The girl was thrilled.
Yahoo for a very merry and inexpensive baby girl Christmas!

We have so few family shots,
I thought I should share this one.
I can't believe that in about 4 more months
we will be a family of 4!

We are incredibly excited for 2010.
We have a new house,
new baby,
new ward callings (we were recently both released
when our ward merged with a neighboring branch),
and many more new things to look forward to.

What A Weekend

We have been a busy couple bees
the last few days.

Dorothy got all dressed up for her first wedding.
I daresay she was second most beautiful
to the bride.

We had a mini- Christmas opening
wonderful gifts from Auntie Mary.
Thank you so much, Mare!

And today we are
enjoying a day at home
courtesy of the blizzard of 2009.

They officially canceled church last night
and we have been staying snuggled inside
with a pan of cinnamon buns, movies, and music
all morning.

We ventured out with Dot for a few minutes,
but the snow hasn't let up yet.
We've gotten about 2 feet and
should be getting a few more inches before it is all over.

Who knows,
maybe Marty will get a snow day tomorrow, too!

It's Here!!

Yesterday afternoon,
our house showed up in 4 pieces.

It was an incredible feeling
to peek in the windows
and see all the things we had only seen on paper.

The crane showed up this morning
and parked next to the foundation.

After eating lunch with some wonderful ladies
I took a walk out to see the progress.
This is what I found!

We have a house, ladies and gentlemen!!!

We should get to do a walk through
this afternoon to make sure everything looks right!

Mary, my best friend from college, was celebrating her
25th birthday last weekend,
and I got a lucky invite to the classy event.
She booked us for tea and cupcakes at the Ritz in Boston!
We all had a great time.

We each got to pick our own pot of tea
(I chose a lovely herbal blend)
and got our own plate of the 5 cupcakes above.
We then spent 2 lovely hours
sipping, nibbling, and chatting.
I did not leave a crumb on my plate or a drop in my pot.

One of my favorite parts of the whole experience
was the live piano player they had in the lobby
playing beautiful Christmas music the whole time.
There were also lots of little girls on cupcake dates
with their moms--so adorable!
It made me excited for when Dorothy is older
and we can do some fun things together.

The Rest of November

Well, here we are. The last day of the month. And what a month it has been! I am so grateful that with as crazy as things get sometimes, we still make time to laugh and enjoy time together as a family. I love Dorothy's hair and the look on her face in this shot. Dorothy's new favorite thing to do is point. She loves to wake up in the morning and point at the window with the new light coming in. She points to people she knows and new people she meets. She points at the ceramic animals her grandma has in her living room. It is just adorable. Here she is pointing at her daddy.
We were able to make a weekend getaway to Pennsylvania in the middle of the month. Look at this face! She was so excited to have big cousins to play with her and plenty of room to crawl around without getting hurt.
Dorothy has also been eating more solid foods this month. Her new favorite thing is her Auntie Eva's homemade applesauce. Being the wonderful auntie that she is, she sent us home with an entire jar for the Dot to enjoy.
And on the house front, things are still moving along. The foundation is done, sealed, and has actually been backfilled. This picture is missing the final step. The house delivery date is officially December 14th! We are almost to the next phase!
Thanksgiving was a little bit stressful this year. Dorothy came down with a flu bug at the beginning of the week and ran a fever up until the afternoon of Thanksgiving. Because we are living here and all her little cousins were around, we pretty much had to quarantine ourselves down in the basement. But it was still nice to have the family around. We ate more than we should have and watched lots of fun movies while Dorothy recovered. Luckily we're just down to a cough and hoarse voice left on her sickness.

Whew! I am so excited to begin a new month. This month will be another busy one, full of holiday parties, a wedding, my brother coming home from his mission, and another trip to Pennsylvania for Christmas. Bring it, December! We're ready!
